Self-employed CRNAs have both opportunities and responsibilities that come with self-employment as a 1099 independent contractor. We will show CRNAs how to calculate a break-even point where being 1099 is more profitable than a W2 job. This lecture will help CRNAs understand how to establish their own anesthesia services business, maintain their business most efficiently, fulfill federal tax and reporting responsibilities, and take advantage of tax reduction and deferral opportunities exclusive to 1099 self-employed independent contractor CRNAs.
Learning Objectives:
Describe the process of establishing and maintaining an anesthesia services business.
Identify ways to reduce and/or defer taxation through business deductions, qualified retirement plans and other options.
Identify tax payments, reporting and other federal and IRS requirements.
