A native of Rolling Fork, MS, Blake has 24 years of combined service as an intensive care nurse and nurse anesthetist at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Mr. Ward is a graduate of both the UMMC School of Nursing as well as the University of Tennessee – Memphis Health Science Center School of Nurse Anesthesia and has served as UMMC's Chief of Anesthesia Quality and Education since 2019. Mr. Ward has been selected as a "Healthcare Hero" and “Top 50 Under 40” by the Mississippi Business Journal, served as President of the Mississippi Board of Nursing, conducted over 90 public speaking events, published 21 articles, given courtroom testimony with cross-examination regarding the practice of Nurse Anesthesiology, practiced as an Intensivist in the UMMC Covid-19 unit, delivered anesthesia in 35 hospitals across Mississippi, Tennessee and central Africa and has spent the last 4 years integrating quantitative neuromuscular monitoring into anesthetic practice.
