Dr. Henker is a Professor in the Department of Nurse Anesthesia at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing. Dr. Henker is currently the AANA representative to the G4 Alliance a group that advocates at a global level for improved access to anesthesia for surgical care in low and middle-income countries. He has coordinated the development of nurse anesthesia programs through Health Volunteers Overseas in Belize, Cambodia, Lao, and Bhutan. Prior overseas research has included projects supported by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Funded by: Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science. Dr. Henker has been a visiting professor at Keio University, Tokyo; International University of Health and Welfare-Narita, Narita Japan; Siriraj Hospital, Department of Anesthesiology, Mahidol University, Bangkok; Nakon Phanom University, Nakon Phanom, Thailand; and Harbin Medical University, Harbin China. Dr. Henker practices as a nurse anesthetist at Angkor Hospital for Children, and Lao Friends Hospital for Children.
