Dr. Schirle is an Assistant Professor of Research at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. Her primary research interests involve investigating factors influencing postoperative pain and opioid use, and she is the Principal Investigator on an NIH-Funded K23 to examine pain sensitivity and genomic influences on pain and opioid use after Total Knee Replacement. Dr. Schirle has published and presented on various pain research, health policy and nursing topics, and was recently named Vanderbilt University School of Nursing Researcher of the Year and inducted as a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing.
