Rhea Temmermand is a CRNA and a neuropharmacologist in the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology at Drexel University. She studies glutamate transporters on astrocytes and their role in pain modulation, and she is particularly interested in neuropathic pain, non-opioid drug discovery and opioid addiction. In addition to full-time research, Rhea is an Adjunct Professor at Drexel's Nurse Anesthesia program and is co-editor of a comprehensive science textbook for nurse anesthesiologists. She is also the founder of Atomic Anesthesia, an innovative anesthesia & science education company that creates educational material for nurse anesthesia residents and faculty.
