Evaluating and Improving Anesthetic Management of Patients on Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (State of the Science Oral Poster Session) (.25 Class A CE)
The AANA Foundation’s State-of-the-Science Oral Poster Session features sixteen CRNAs and RRNAs presenting their research findings classroom-presentation style. Each researcher is given 15 minutes in which to present their research and answer questions. Presentations will be focused in two areas – research and evidence-based projects.
Learning Objectives:
Express the unique challenges in perioperative pain management for patients on MOUD for opioid use disorder.
Define the components of the MOUD extension in the electronic medical record and its role in improving patient identification and care coordination.
List the key elements of the evidence-based anesthesia management guidelines for patients on methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone.
Define the multidisciplinary approach used in developing and implementing anesthesia management guidelines for patients on MOUD.
Identify strategies for sustainable implementation and potential spread of the MOUD initiative to improve care for this patient population.
