Ladan Eshkevari, Ph.D., CRNA, L.Ac, FAAN is a Professor Emeritus at Georgetown University after serving as a faculty leader 25 years. As a professor she held several leadership positions at the University, including Chair of Faculty, and was the creator and Program Director of the Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice Program. She has served on Boards of nursing in DC, and was the Chair of the AANA Foundation for several year. She currently serves as the Editor in Chief of the AANA Journal.
She earned her BS in nursing with Honors from the University of MD, her MS in Nurse Anesthesia from Columbia University, NY and earned her doctorate in Physiology and Biophysics from Georgetown University. She is an expert in the area of anesthesia, pain management, and alternative medicine. She has expertise in central and peripheral mechanisms of the stress response; and its impact on mental health. She isa member of the American Academy of Nursing, and sits on its mental health expert panel.
Dr. Eshkevari has been published in numerous peer reviewed journals such as Experimental Biology and Medicine, Journal of Endocrinology, and Endocrinology, which have stimulated international interest in her research, and have been referenced in numerous peer review manuscripts as well as news outlets. Her work has been recently highlighted in National Geographic, Time Magazine, USA Today and National Public Radio.
Finally, she has been an invited speaker to many national and international meetings, speaking about her research at Oxford University in the UK.
