Jennifer Ross Majumdar, PhD, CRNA is the Specialty Director for the Nurse Anestheisa Program at Hunter College and a Nurse Scientist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). She joined the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at MSK as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in 2015 and transitioned to the role of Nurse Scientist in 2022. Prior to MSK, Dr. Majumdar was a CRNA in the Anesthesia Associates of Massachusetts group in Boston and a Clinical Faculty in the Boston College Nurse Anesthesia Program. Dr. Majumdar received her BSN from Washington State University, her MSN from Boston College in 2011, and her PhD from The Catholic University of America.
Dr. Majumdar’s program of research focuses on improving outcomes in patients undergoing outpatient ambulatory surgery. She has led multidisciplinary groups to evaluate the effectiveness of evidence-based protocols leading to a reduction in post operative nausea and vomiting and unplanned overnight admissions. Her PhD dissertation focused on the relationships between distress, pain, and coping strategies in women recovering from outpatient breast cancer surgery. Her current grant-funded research is focused on developing targeted interventions.
