Dr. Charles Lin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and a staff anesthesiologist at UPMC Passavant, a 400 bed tertiary care hospital. He has numerous roles with patient safety. He is the Director of Quality Improvement for the Department of Anesthesiology at UPMC Passavant. He is a member of the committee of technology with the Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation. He is the physician liason for DNP projects with the Nurse Anesthesia program at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing. His current research interests involve investigating novel technologies for improving patient safety. His current projects include the use of focused medical simulation technologies such as medical simulation to train surgical airway techniques and the use of remote wearable monitoring for improving postoperative outcomes.
